Tally Raises $8M to Scale DAO Governance Platform

Tally Raises $8 Million Series A to Empower DAOs and Scale On-Chain Governance

April 22, 2025 – Tally, the leading provider of on-chain governance tooling, today announced it has secured $8 million in Series A funding. The round was led by AppWorks and Blockchain Capital, with participation from BitGo and others. This latest investment brings Tally’s total funding to $15.69 million, including a $7.5 million raise in 2021 and a grant of $154,530 in October 2023. The funds will be used to expand Tally's platform, enabling more decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) to effectively manage their governance processes and improve voter participation.

Tally provides a comprehensive software suite for DAOs operating across multiple blockchains, including Ethereum and Solana. The platform offers tools for launching tokens, managing governance proposals, and implementing staking mechanisms. With features like customizable token distribution, delegate management, and autonomous proposal execution, Tally facilitates transparent and efficient protocol governance.

"We've built a complete stack of software for operating these on-chain organizations," said Dennison Bertram, CEO and co-founder of Tally. "We can take you from your idea to launching your token, to distributing your membership or ownership, all the way to the value accrual for your protocol."

Tally's platform is already used by leading DAOs such as Arbitrum, Uniswap, ZKsync, Wormhole, EigenLayer, Obol, and Hyperlane, demonstrating its effectiveness in managing complex governance processes. The company aims to address the challenge of low voter participation in DAOs by introducing staking mechanisms that reward active governance participants. Users can stake their governance tokens to receive Tally Liquid Staked Tokens (tLSTs), earning passive income while retaining voting rights within DAOs.

"This fundraise is about leaning into our original vision," Bertram added. "Now that we've proven this works, it's time to scale it up." Tally's CEO also noted that recent regulatory clarity in the U.S. is expected to increase institutional participation in DAOs, further driving the need for robust governance tools.

Key Features and Benefits of Tally:

  • Token Launch: Create and deploy tokens, manage distribution, and activate governance.
  • Governance: On-chain proposal creation, voting, execution, and transparent voting power management.
  • Staking: Industry-standard staking contracts compatible with governance and DeFi, customizable eligibility, and delegate compensation.
  • MultiGov: Enables multichain governance across different networks.
  • Advanced Voting Options: Signal voting, snapshot voting, private voting, and partial delegation.
  • Integrations: Seamless integration with other platforms like Discourse, Gnosis Safe, and Snapshot.
